Now I might be setting up a gaming scene, but I’ll cover everything you need to know to build any scene you want, as well as show you how to install a template that has every scene you might need prebuilt. In the middle we have Sources, sources are all of your media that are in the Scene you have selected. Right now it is empty, but if we click this plus sign we can add sources such as a game capture, which you'll need in your Gaming Scene, this lets you capture your game and display it in Streamlabs OBS. Anything you want to add, you'll do it with this plus sign, that could be video graphics, or it could be still images, or it could be any of these dozens of built-in widgets. For example, we also want alerts so if someone Follows while you're live, an alert plays on screen, so we hit + and add an Alert box. Your alert box will be the default alerts, but if you want to learn how to make alerts and how to use the alertbox perfectly, I have a playlist of Streamlabs OBS tutorials linked in the description. Your game scene will probably also need a webcam, maybe some support bars for the latest followers, or subscribers, and potentially you'll want your chat on screen. Let's start with the webcam, lets click the plus, click add Video Capture Device, we will select our webcam, and then resize it down. If you plan to crop in on your camera or zoom in like we want to do later in this video, 1080 is probably the resolution you want, but it is more intensive on your PC so I do recommend 720p for most people. Next is FPS, I noticed some lag issues with I set this to highest but they went away if I set it to match the source, OR set it to 30. Colour space you’ll want 709, and finally, the color range is set to full. How To Change White Balance Inside Streamlabs OBS or OBS Essentially different lights produce different color temperatures, you need to set your webcam or any camera to match that white balance so that you get accurate colors. Normally set my key light up so that it is producing daylight or white color of around 4500 kelvin, and I will set my white balance to something similar in my camera. For now, there are charts you can use to help but essentially the mistake is that people don’t set this manually meaning the webcams and camera often try to adjust it automatically and the camera gets it VERY wrong! It’s why sometimes you are super orange or super pale, the webcam has gone “This looks about 3600 kelvin!” when in reality it might be 5500 kelvin but it thinks 3600 because it saw an orange poster and thought it was white. To adjust this manually, you’ll go into your webcam settings and find it here, make sure automatic is off, and drag it around till you find the right balance for you. Learn how to add a music or microphone audio spectrum visualizer to your Streamlabs OBS (SLOBS) stream using Plane9 visual effects application! In this video I show you how you can install and add a visual representation of the sounds on your Twitch, YouTube Gaming or Facebook Gaming stream using a tool called Plane9 that reacts in different ways and adds virtual reality style effects to audio on your stream! I previously did a similar video for OBS Studio using the Spectralizer plugin but since that plugin was specific to OBS Studio, I decided to create a video for Streamlabs OBS (SLOBS) too! However, the technique shown in this video can easily be achieved on OBS Studio, XSplit, OBS.live, Stream Elements etc too! The audio visualizer can be an amazing tool to add to your effects on stream, and massively improve the streaming experience for your broadcast viewers! I go through loads of source changing techniques which will make the most of how beautiful the application capture of Plane9 applies to your stream, all within about 12 minutes! You can add audio visualizers like Plane9 to your streaming set up to show your mic audio, say for example on a podcast situation or instances of commentary as a visual stimulation. You can also add audio visualizers for your music, or even your game audio depending on how you have your audio lines split / managed. Learn how to nest scenes and sources in this detailed tutorial video. Scene nesting is really important and the benefits are wide-ranging to streamers on Twitch, YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming. Nesting scenes as hierarchy is also not something that is limited to Streamlabs OBS, or Xsplit, you can do this in any broadcasting software such as OBS.live (stream elements), Twitch Studio, OBS Studio, etc. The main benefits of scene nesting are: - Big increase in stream performance by using scene hierarchies - Reduce stream lag / laggy / lagginess and improved frames on stream - Much more efficient for setting up new scenes - Manage sources much more efficiently and effectively for your stream - Be able to duplicate sources such as your webcam, base scene assets or other stream sources to make independent changes to that source - Much more flexibility and complexity in your stream scenes set up - Filters on sources do not replicate or duplicate on nested scenes - Set up multiple versions of your webcam - Use stream webcam for green screen AND non-green screen. In the video, I show how to set up nested scenes in detail. I explain what nesting scenes and sources exactly is, and I also give some more insight into the benefits of nesting your scenes and sources. This is a quick video guide for how to set up a simple mask only matte transition in Streamlabs Version 1.11. Thanks for watching! Add a new transition In Streamlabs click the |→| button under the Scene Transitions section. This is usually in the lower left section of the main Streamlabs screen. In the Scene Transition window that pops up, click the "Add Transition" button. 2. Name the Transition Another window will pop up with the settings and allow you to enter whatever name you'd like for the transition. 3. Select the transition type Select the "Stinger" option from the "Type" drop down menu. In Streamlabs, matte transitions are considered a type of stinger transition. The rest of the settings for this transition will appear after you select the type. 4. Select the Video File Click "Browse" to open the file explorer where you can browse to and select the video file you want to use. If you aren't sure where the file is stored, check your downloads or videos folder. 5. Set the transition point The transition point for a matte transition decides when the stream audio will switch from scene to scene, usually halfway through. 6. Set up the Track Matte Check the "Use a Track Matte" checkbox below the transition settings. Set the mask type from the "Mask Layout" drop down menu. 7. Save the transition Click the "Done" button at the bottom of the window to save the transition. 8. Set as the default transition Check the "Default" radio button next to the transition you want to use when switching between scenes. 9. Use the Transition To use the transition, switch between scenes in the "Scenes" section in the lower left of the main screen.
