In this episode UniFi controller on raspberry pi instead of cloud key. Cloud key is a very powerfull part of your network but in case you have a raspberry pi around it can host your unifi controller without any problems. The installation procedure is easy and you can set it up in minutes! 👍 First you need to install raspbian on raspberry pi following the procedure described in the video. Next unifi controller needs to be downloaded from official site and installed. Unifi controller is not supporting yet java 9 which comes included in the latest version of rasibian. On the other hand java 8 is obsolete and the only package that is available for downlod on raspbian is openjdk which has been used in this tutorial. Of course there are some other ways as well to overcome this problem but he procedure described in the easiest. My USG cannot load full speed if I use PPPOE, but good speed if use IPv6 (DHCP from ISP). I need PPPOE to get a public IP address from my ISP, that's why I have to add a router in front of it. Install the unifi controller on a raspberry pi 1. download the latest version of raspbian: 🤍 2. unzip the image 3. write the image to an sdcard (16GB class10 or more) with etcher: 🤍 4. put a file on the pootpartition called ssh (all lowercase and without any extention) 5. insert the sdcard into your rasperry pi and boot it up 6. ssh into your raspberry pi with a tool like putty 7. run the commands: - sudo apt-get update - sudo apt-get upgrade - sudo apt-get autoremove This is to update the packages on the raspberry pi to the latest versions 8. go to 🤍 9. copy the link to the download of the linux version of the unifi controller 10. in the raspberry pi type the command: cd /usr/local/src this is the folder which we are going to download unifi into 11. download unifi by typing: sudo wget (the link we just copied) 12. ls -la to view the file name 13. type sudo dpkg -i (file name) to install unifi 14. resolver the errors by installing the dependencies by using the command: sudo apt-get install -f 15. check if the unifi controller is running by typing: sudo service unifi status 16. if it is running go to your browser and type https://(unifi ip):8443 things i did to fix my issue: sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jre echo "JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-armhf" | sudo tee -a /etc/default/unifi JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-armhf

I use Raspbien LITE in this video (Command-line only) since the intention is to use this in future videos to setup server software. I still go over how to install Raspbian Desktop for a PC-like experience, but it is not shown in this video. Specifically, I use a Raspberry Pi 4 2GB Starter Kit (by Canokit) although this guide can apply to any Raspberry Pi with very little differences. Also, I leave out the part where you should update your repositories and upgrade packages after install. In order to do this, just issue the commands "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade" after finishing in order to get the Pi up to date.

In Homemade CNC Router Part 8: Installing UGS On A Raspberry PI (Arduino CNC Router) I decided to install UGS On a Raspberry PI. The reason I did this was so I didn't have to bring out my laptop to use my Homemade CNC Router. You should now have a Raspberry PI Working Downloading UGS 🤍 2: Download UGS Raspberry PI Version and place it on your desktop Create a folder and insert the setup file in it then proceed to extract it, this may take a while. 3: Open up Terminal and Configure the Raspberry PI Correctly Type “sudo apt-get update” Then “sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Then “sudo raspi-config” Select Advanced Options Select GL Driver If your using an external screen select “Full KMS” Then Restart your Raspberry PI 4: Installing Java Through The Terminal a: Type “sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk” b: Let Java Download, this may take some time 5: Opening Up UGS Click on the folder you created - ugs platform - bin then proceed to right click on ugs platform - select properties - permissions - Change all the permissions to anyone! Go back to the ugs icon and right click it then select open - Execute in Terminal! After you Execute In Terminal the UGS will start to open and load.
